Need equipment for the camp-out? Bob Raymond has a 2-room tent (for a large family or 2 couples), 2 air beds, and lanterns—all in a trailer. Just supply linens/blankets. The Children’s Ministry Team is currently offering a cooking class for children ages 6-13 during the Sunday School hour (9:40-10:45 a.m.). Come learn about Jesus, in the kitchen! Fill your tummy with food and your heart with love! We're sure to cook up lots of fun, and learn some new skills, too! Our own Mike and Sandy Click are teaching the class which promises to be hands-on learning and tummy satisfying. Meet in the lower level kitchen. Please sign up so that enough ingredients can be available. You will not want to miss these wonderful learning opportunities!

Chilson Community Garage Sale
 

Get Ready, Get Set, Start ... to Empty Out Your Closets, Garages, and Basements!

Chilson’s 1st Community Garage Sale & Flea Market is set for Sat., May 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lower level and parking lot. If you want to have a garage sale or have a product-based business, sign up and help support our church! Each table is $25 and parking spaces are $20 (rain or shine). At least 15 tables must be sold by Sun., April 20. Drop off checks at the office or mail-in (payable: Chilson Hills Church). You set up, run, and clean up your sale. Set up is Fri., May 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Sat. morning at 7 a.m. Contact Roberta at (517) 545-2891.

The purpose of this Chilson Hills Town Hall meeting is to discuss possible changes to the Sunday morning schedule and hear from as many people as possible. This is not a Church Business meeting and no vote will be taken. Bring up other topics after our discussion of the main topic.

In Two Weeks! FREE EVENT
 

There’s food, fun, and fellowship for the whole family with an old-fashioned potluck and the movie “Ratatouille” on Sat., May 3 at 5:30 p.m. (movie starts around 6:15). Just bring a main dish and a side dish to pass. Enjoy the big screens when you bring your own seating—from blankets to beanbag chairs to recliners! Church Camping at Bishop Lake
 

Join us June 13-14 (starting Fri. and going thru Sat. night or Sun. morning, your pick) at Brighton Recreation Area’s Bishop Lake Campgrounds. Bring fishing gear, bathing suits, baseball mitts and running shoes! Plans include a pig roast! Head to church on Sunday, wearing a favorite camp outfit. A campsite map is on the main lobby bulletin board. The cost is $19/night plus an $8 registration fee. The Ping’s reserved site 109 on the lower level campground. Cinco de Mayo Luncheon
 

Meet for lunch after the 11:00 service Sunday DOWNSTAIRS for a taco luncheon. This is a fundraiser to raise money for senior high youth to go the American Baptist National Convention in July. Suggested donation is $5/person.

Spring ‘08 Class Schedule
 

The new class schedule runs through June 15. Enjoy the following subjects:

¨  “Family Dynamics” led by April Ping and Alia Schubbe;

¨  “Seasons of the Spirit” led by Don Barron and Alia Schubbe;

¨  “Where Did We Get All of These Different Denominations?” led by Rev. Dr. David Swink. Follow the development of the church from the split from Judaism until today. Explore the challenge of structure and freedom.

¨  “The Bible as Narrative: Biblical Storytelling” led by Robin Gilshire. Does the Bible offer plot, characters, romance? Did Jesus use a Bible? What does the word “Bible” mean? Do you start at the beginning? Who wrote it? When?

Lisa Lovely Featured as Soloist
 

Lisa Lovely, director of the Chilson Hills Bell Choir, will be one of the featured soloists performing with the LSO in concert on May 3 and 4. The first show is Saturday, May 3 at the Shalom Lutheran Church on M36 in Pinckney; the concert begins at 8 p.m. The second show will be at the Hartland Music Hall, on Sunday, May 4, beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10/adults, $5 for seniors/students, and children 12 and under are free. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Marathon
 

Bob and Nancy Martin’s daughter, Diana, is running her first marathon to raise money to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients/families.
