| Life with Life Groups! |
| What is a Life Group? Life Groups are smaller groups within the church family who meet regularly, in homes, at church, and elsewhere, to closely share life’s journey. Together, members face serious life situations, ask tough spiritual questions, and deliver assistance in times of need. Each group has a different flavor. You’ll find some groups “focus” on a certain season of life (for instance parenting stages, singles, seniors); others are focused on a spirit of volunteerism; all are focused on spiritual growth. Consider all groups, any time of year, and pick what suits your needs and interests best. To pick your favorite flavor, contact the church office. Chilson has many Life Groups. A Life Group typically includes up to 12 people who: (1) form a community to experience the love of God; (2) grow in a love relationship with Jesus Christ and each other; (3) serve Christ and the Church through the group; (4) carry that love in mission to the world; (5) hold regular meetings; (6) are independent but interdependent upon one another; (7) become an integral part of congregation Celebration Worship; (8) minister to members under the direction of its leader. Why Have Life Group? 1. Introduction—to encounter Jesus in a real-life way. 2. Exploration—to discover our spiritual gifts and have a place to use them. 3. Construction—to build up one another as we experience life together. 4. Exhilaration—to become the person God wants us to be perhaps through music, prayer, study, fellowship, and mission. 5. Invitation—to offer this same opportunity to all. What Can I Expect? 1. A loving, accepting environment for you and those you bring. 2. Confidentiality in sharing. 3. Interaction with friends. 4. Encouragement. 5. A partner to pray for and with during the week. 6. Monthly, casual gatherings just for having fun. 7. Quarterly Life Group sponsored “All Church” activities. 8. Enjoying God! To confirm meeting times and locations: call the Church office, send an e-mail, or look for additional information in The Sunday Morning Herald. Life Groups have many personalities. About Chilson Hills Church by Bob Miley, Deacon "Chilson Hills, with its freedom from religious orthodoxy, has helped me pursue a closer relationship with our God and my Church family. My heart has been opened. My inner core has been cleansed to view other faiths and denominations--all in the name of Christ--to see wholesome goodness in worship and congregation--good people held by gravity in this world but yet boundless in freedom to the Holy Spirit."
