STARTS SEPTEMBER 7
Diaconate Training

Chilson Hills is blessed to have an active Diaconate who provides spiritual leadership for the congregation. A Deacon at Chilson Hills is a licensed lay minister who visits in hospitals and homes, supports people when asked, and can officiate at weddings and funerals. Our Deacon Training cycle begins Tues., Sept. 7 from 7-9p in David’s office. Each Deacon identifies their ministry area in which to serve. There is a 2-year course of study that includes meeting together with fellow candidates on alternate Tuesday evenings from Sept. thru May. At least one Deacon Retreat experience is held each year. Each Candidate has a Deacon mentor as support thruout the study. Please join with us on September 7 and do not let this opportunity pass for another year! We will study Church Leadership skill building, Church History, Ministry Skill building, Christian Theology, and the Old & New Testaments. Please pray about this opportunity! Contact David Swink for more info.

There are no right or wrong answers! There are no right or wrong results!! The test offers you insight into your preferences, comfort levels, and the strategies you use in decision making. Singles, daters, couples, all welcome. The Children's Ministry Team is in need of additional volunteers. Contact Debbie Lovin (734) 878-3805 or dlovin1960@gmail.com or Jamie Swink (810) 227-1327 or swinkj@yahoo.com.

JOB SEEKER CLOSET
Donate Items to Job Seekers

Got briefcases, binders, folders, planners, portfolios, or other stuff in good condition that you no longer use? Recycle your business items! The church offers an "office professional closet" for members and friends who are job hunting. No clothing, phones or electronics please! (Working calculators are fine.) Items can be dropped off before/after Sunday worship services in the main lobby. Contact Cynthia Grochowski at (734) 878-9831 or the church office.

KITCHEN USE
Supply Alert!

It’s time to "bring your own kitchen paper supplies" when you sponsor an event which involves use of the kitchen. All supplies in the kitchen are being paid for by individual members, not by the church. If you use supplies, you are taking supplies that are reserved for another event. Be aware that it is important to appreciate the work, effort, and money of the people those supplies belong to!

NEED TO KNOW

Paint Sprayers and More

Do you know the whereabouts of church paint sprayers or other church property that may have been moved or borrowed? Call the office to let us know its location. We encourage a prompt return as these items are needed!

RECYCLING
Donate Used
Toner Cartridges

Used toner cartridges are still being collected in the main lobby. When not benefitting children’s activities, they help to purchase critical supplies for the church office. Each cartridge brings in a minimum of $3 to put toward church needs. Contact Kathryn Poppy at the church office kpoppy@chilsonhills.org.

Bulletin Board
Ideas & Volunteers

Our bulletin boards near the nursery need a facelift and can become a welcome problem-solver. Offer your ideas and/or time to Kathryn Poppy at kpoppy@chilsonhills.org.

About Chilson Hills Church
by Bob Miley, Deacon

"Chilson Hills, with its freedom from religious orthodoxy, has helped me pursue
a closer relationship with our God and my Church family. My heart has
been opened. My inner core has been cleansed to view other faiths and
denominations--all in the name of Christ--to see wholesome goodness in
worship and congregation--good people held by gravity in this world but
yet boundless in freedom to the Holy Spirit."
